Hiring a trailer for your next adventure might need you to do a little bit of homework and discussion with your vehicle insurer.
Most comprehensive car insurance policies cover trailers, but usually only for third party liability. In other words, you would be covered for any injury to another person or damage to their property. However, your policy would not pay out if the trailer, roof box or bike carrier was damaged in an accident that was your fault
You also need to consider insurance of the trailer whilst it is not secured to your vehicle or when you are away from the vehicle. If you are hiring goods from us for some length of time, it is your responsibility to ensure that the trailer, roof box or bike carrier is secure and safe at all times. You could loose your deposit if not and be charged more to replace the items you have hired.
Our best sugegstion is to speak to us and confirm the tyoe of trailer, roof box or bike carrier you wish to hire, then speak to your vehicle insurance to see what you are covered for. After that, if you need to increase your insurance, check out the button below for more details!
